I love the ghostly ethereal effect that long exposures can give to a shot. This one took 20 seconds to take and, as a result, left me with wet feet as one wave was a little larger than the others. It was taken as night drew in at high tide amongst the rocks on Upton Beach near Bude (with a slippery access path to scramble up in the dark).
I envisaged the creation of a some sort of extra terrestrial landscape when pre visualising the shot and was more than a little inspired by one of the shots in Alien of the eggs in a ghostly low mist in the crashed alien spaceship.
Immodestly, I think I succeeded and like the result.
