Widemouth Bay is very popular with surfers and because it faces due west it is also one of the best sunset spots in the area (as the car parks attest to late in the day). We are very fortunate to live just a few minutes walk from this great North Cornwall beach.
When I can I take the opportunity to pop down around sunset with my camera as there is usually something going on. I take with me either long or short lenses as the mood grabs me.
This surfer struck me as he looked like he was practising his semaphore signalling on top of this wave as the sun set into the sea behind him. The rocky headland of Cambeak near Crackington Haven rises in the background behind him.

Wonderful shot. You’ve captured the surfer in perfect pose and the colours in the sky are just fantastic. Looks a lovely place to watch the sun go down.
